So I don’t know about you, but I am definitely not a morning person! Every morning I literally do a happy dance making my morning coffee. I have tried a lot of different recipes but the problem with a lot of the coffee drinks that are popular is the SUGAR in them. I drink it and then feel tired almost immediately because my blood sugar tanks. Even if you drink coffee black, you will start craving carbohydrates later because caffeine is associated with increased hunger.

A while ago I heard of bulletproof coffee and was immediately intrigued. I started experimenting with adding fat to my coffee, and initially I was a little turned off by the taste. But overtime I crafted a simple recipe that tastes delicious and is also the perfect blend of fat and protein for my busy lifestyle. So many people are afraid of incorporating fat into their diet. The problem is we NEED fat in our diet to function. Our cells are literally composed of fat. Now when I say fat, I’m not talking about fatty donuts and fried food. I’m talking about coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and other healthy saturated forms of fat. This fat also helps satiate hunger and regulates your blood sugar. Here is my recipe:

Coffee (Preferably organic! I’m a snob and love French press coffee!)

~ 8-12 ounces of Chameleon coffee (Click for link)

~1-2 tablespoons of Kerrygold butter (Click for link) P. S. If you are local these two items are cheaper and Aldi’s and Hyvee!

~1-2 scoops of Collagen peptides depending on the desired amount of protein (Click for link)

~ Now if you don’t mind the taste of coconut add a teaspoon of organic coconut oil!

~But if you are like me and don’t like coconut I would recommend MCT oil or powder! I use this brand (Click for link)

~ ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract

~Organic Cinnamon to sprinkle on top!

Instructions: Add all the ingredients into the blender except the cinnamon!  Blend for 30 seconds. Pour into a portable mug and sprinkle cinnamon on top. ENJOY!
